Content Management Systems (CMS)
allow editing of a website's
text and images without the need
to be a web designer. The
system we chose is user-friendly,
intuitive and browser based
which means you can logon and update your website
from anywhere in the world with
an internet connection. |

How it Works
|
|
|
|
Each web page you visit is
written in code (predominately
HTML code) which your browser
(Internet Explorer, Firefox,
Safari etc.) reads and converts
into the page you see.
What we do is insert special
code allowing certain parts to
be editable by our nominated
CMS.
You simply login to a
website and you can change your
page.
Below you can see an example
of just how easy it is to take
control of your website and
avoid recurring costs from web

update

To
the left
is how
our
website
currently
looks
and we
want to
change
the
picture
of the
bride on
the home
page and
the
title -
"Welcome
to
Violet
Wedding
Planning"

| To
do this
we logon
to our
CMS
website
and
select
the page
to edit
from a
list.
The
CMS
website
displays
the
components
of our
page
that we
can edit,
in this
example
the main
image,
the
title
and the
main
body
text can
all be
edited
as you
can see
in the
picture
to the
left

the
image to

| Lets
start by
changing
the
picture
of our
bride
and
replace
it with
an image
of a
Rolls
Royce.
To do
this we
click on
the
"Browse..."
button
next to
the
image.

This
brings
up a box
to allow
us to
browse
to the
image on
your
computer.
Simply
click
open and
the file
will
upload
once we
have
finished
our
other
amendments.

| Next
we are
going to
change
the
title
from :
"Welcome
to
Violet
Wedding
Planning"
to
"Welcome
to
Magenta
Wedding
Planning"
To
achieve
this all
we need
to do is
highlight
the text
we want
to
change
(in this
case
"Violet"
and just
type
over it
- no
different
to using
Word!

the
"Publish
Page"
button
at the
bottom
and our
page
will be
updated...
